Island of Porquerolles
The Golden Islands
Opposite the peninsula of Hyères, the Golden Islands seem to be floating at the horizon of the Mediterranean Sea. Porquerolles is the biggest of the 3 islands. It offers two aspects. The coast spreads with sand beaches where you can swim or relax. The southern coast is steeper and can be discovered along the unspoiled creeks. Port Cros, the smallest island, is unspoiled and invites you to hike on the signposted tracks or dive in the protected water. The third island, Le Levant is almost as big as Porquerolles. Here you can admire the same charming landscapes as on the other two islands. The islands can be reached with a ferry, leaving from the Var coast (Hyères, Lavandou).
